Thank Goodness for Bob, published by Egmont
On sunday 29th we were joined by a wonderful super-duo; author, Matthew Morgan and illustrator, Gabriel Alborozo, with their new picture book, Thank Goodness for Bob.
Max is a little boy with a lot of worries. How to deal with a situation like this when you’re a parent? Here’s a wonderful way of helping your children realise that it’s okay to think about things alot, and a good way to evaporate those worries is to talk about them, which is where Bob the dog comes in. Bob who listens, and shows Max that he needn’t worry at all.
After a reading of the story, Matt and Gabe talked about all the things they worry about and asked the children to think about what they worry about too! Creating ‘worry bubbles’ of their own, everyone loved Matt’s giant bubble maker, and got messy at the crafting table with Gabe to make their very own worry bubbles to pop away. These were stuck onto a Bob and Max poster at the end – just like in the book.
With copies of the book signed at the end for lots of happy little readers!
Many thanks to Gabe and Matthew for a wonderful morning filled with bubbles!
