With an exciting new chapter in the Bright timeline on the horizon which will see the launching of the Bright Emporium (see below), we are delighted to share news (featuring royalty, no less!) fromone of our fabulous clients and Emporium collaborators, Whitefish Gallery.
Whistlefish Galleries was established in St Ives, Cornwall (UK), by Lyn Thompson – herself a very gifted artist – in 1998 with assistance from the Prince’s Trust, enabling her to develop her own ‘table-top’ industry in painted greetings cards beyond the local craft fair market to a chain of 12 bricks and mortar gallery premises across the South West, selling high-quality art prints – hand-finished in-house by the business’ own framing workshop – and greetings card ranges by a whole raft of handpicked creative talent of both national and international renown – including many of our very own Bright artists! On 21 July 2015, Whistlefish welcomed their Royal Highnesses, the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall, to their flagship gallery in Padstow, demonstrating – to the Prince’s proud approval, it is reported – the impressive growth that the business had achieved with the support of the Trust initiative. You can read more about the royal couple’s visit on Whistlefish’s excellent blog, here.
Amidst the wonderful array of artwork on display at the Padstow gallery we were excited to spot examples of the incredibly talented Clair Bremner‘s breathtakingly-beautiful, abstract landscape pieces – brilliantly complemented by clean, modern frames applied by Whistlefish (centre-stage in the gallery windows, above!) – joining a host of other striking pieces by Bright superstars Jarvis, Laura Hughes, Fiona Woodcock, Linda Mumba, Ag Jatkowska, Nicola O’Byrne, Julie Ingham and Daniel Rieley, a taste of which you can see below. Our own Bright Emporium will incorporate a unique gallery space, purpose-designed to showcase the fabulous artwork created by our talented artists for some of the biggest retail establishments in the world, and offering the opportunity for visitors to commission stunning, bespoke artwork, purchase limited edition prints, and take advantage of a new a print-on-demand service facilitated by a collaboration with the wonderful Whistlefish.
Ag Jatkowska – delicate & detailed Cornish watercolour scenes
Clair Bremner – ethereal Antipodean landscapes!
Clair is a recent signing with us here at Bright Art Licensing and her fabulous acrylic paintings – composed in a very free-form way and featuring punchy, almost-neon lime highlights and cool, meditative blues with an irresistibly calming quality – are proving very popular! The artist creates her stunning pieces at her home in the Yarra Valley, Australia, working in a quick, spontaneous way that perfectly suits her quick-drying medium, drawing inspiration from the natural world and her surroundings to construct organic, layered works of patterns and colourful glazes that conjure rolling scenery, tranquil glades and mystical caverns.
Daniel Rieley – characterful designs with a personal touch
Fiona Woodcock – quirky compositions
Jarvis – loose, textural style with a refreshing exuberance!
Julie Ingham – bright, summery florals
Laura Hughes – fabulous, scratchy-textured design with a playful approach to perspective!
Linda Mumba – light-filled paintings that capture the coast
Lola Design – stylish wildlife pieces with a contemporary flavour!
Nicola O’Byrne – fresh, breezy harbour paintings
